Getting the bird
Published on 29th November 2007 in News
Taxidermy fans are being asked to keep an eye out for stolen stuffed birds.
The birds, which are worth more than £1,500, were taken from a garage on Marlborough Avenue in Goole some time between 9am on Friday, June 1 and 9am on Sunday, November 25. The theft was discovered when the owner returned to the property after some time away.
Stolen were a stuffed tawny owl standing on a wooden post, a stuffed falcon in a glass cage, a stuffed kestrel in a glass cage sitting on a tree and a wall-mounted flying buzzard with a five-foot wing span.
All are very distinctive items and police are urging people to look out for them being sold on.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Humberside Police on 0845 6060 222 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
