Businesses in the Howden area are invited to a free networking event.

Howdenshire Forward has arranged the informal event at the Shire Hall next Tuesday, November 27, starting at 6pm.

The event will get under way with a speaker from the Horncastle Group, which has developed the Ozone business site at Howden. The speaker will give a progress update and talk about how Ozone could benefit local businesses and town centre trade.

A speaker from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council will follow, with information on the business support available. Guests will also be asked for their views on starting up a local business network and how it should be run.

Free, locally-produced hot food will be served at the end of the event, when guests will have a chance to network and display information about their businesses. The bar will be open throughout the event.

Hugh Roberts, chair of Howdenshire Forward and Howden town mayor, said: "I would really urge businesses in the area to use this opportunity and come along, speak to other businesses, drum up some business, see if there might be opportunities for your business in what the speakers have to say, enjoy some quality food and drink, and then we can see if this is something you think is worth doing again."

Those planning to come along to the event are asked to confirm so that it is known how many to cater for. They should contact Stuart Younger on 01482 391689 or email stuart.younger@ eastriding.gov.uk
