Remembrance Day parade

Army veterans of Goole are being called to fly the flag as part of the town's annual Remembrance Parade, taking place on Sunday, November 11.
The 150 (Yorkshire) Transport Regiment RLC (V) is calling Regular or Reservists in the Goole area to attend the town's parade and wear their medals with pride.
Adrian Blanchard, from the Transport Regiment, said that a veteran is anyone who has served in HM Armed Forces at any time - irrespective of length of service, including National Servicemen and Reservists - and that everyone owed them a 'debt of gratitude' for their contribution to the country's freedom.
He added: "We often think of veterans as the older generation who fought in the world wars, but we want to remind people that a veteran can be any age from 18 upwards."
Any veteran who is not a member of an association wishing to take part in Goole's parade, is requested to e-mail 514blanc@armymail.mod.uk, or assemble outside the Charter Club in Pasture Road at 10.20am on November 11.
The parade will march off to the Cenotaph, via Pasture Road and Boothferry Road, at 10.30am, and the Service of Remembrance will take place at 10.45am before a return to the Charter Club at 11.45am.
