Rubbish fires

Published on 1st November 2007 in News

Arsonists kept the town's firefighters busy last Thursday with a series of rubbish fires.

A crew was called to deal with three fires in the Weatherill Street/Spenser Street area at 10.45pm.

At 11.15pm, they went to put out two burning wheelie-bins and a rubbish fire at the rear of Pasture Road, the flames from which damaged the windows and guttering of a nearby outhouse.

Mobile water supplies and buckets of water were used to put out the fires.
