Eight Lifestyle teams from around the Goole area have been invited to attend next week's Lifestyle Awards 2007 and could be in line for fantastic prizes in recognition of their achievements throughout the summer.

Howden School Lifestyle teams Crazy Four, Lifestyle Team *G*L*A*M*O*R*O*U*S* and Candy Girls will join Cheap as Chips and Helen's Angels from Vermuyden School, The Groovy Goole Girls from Parkside School, Creature Features from Reedness Primary School and Carlton Holy Family Catholic School, and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly from Gilberdyke Primary School and Howden School at next week's awards ceremony at Hull City Hall.

A total of 223 Lifestyle teams have been invited to attend Tuesday's awards ceremony and successful teams will be presented with prizes from day trips to Alton Towers to adventure holidays to Wales. Five runner-up teams will win an adventure holiday to France including a day at Disney Land Paris and the overall winner of Lifestyle 2007 will scoop a holiday of a lifetime to Disney Land Florida.

There will also be a number of special awards available on the evening - the Top Lifestyle School will be presented with £2,000 worth of computer equipment.

Also, due to the phenomenal success of the Environment Agency's GreenScene Award last year, they have again challenged Lifestyle teams to help improve the environment and look at how to reduce the impact of climate change. As a result of this, many Lifestyle teams have gone green this summer and the members of the team winning this award will each receive a mountain bike and a special trophy as a reward for their green initiative.

"I have to say that I was astounded at the dedication, enthusiasm and quality of work of the finalist teams," said Paul Lyons, Lifestyle Awards supporter from Arco.

"All the Lifestylers involved in the project have given an incredible amount of their time over the summer holidays to vastly improving areas within their local communities. One hears so much negativity about today's youth that I didn't expect to see such positive attitudes towards helping the community among so many of the region's young people.

"I am very much looking forward to the Awards Ceremony, but it will be a very hard decision as to the overall winner. In my mind, they are all winners!"
