A Goole man has admitted injuring a woman causing actual bodily harm

Stephen Williams (42), of Airmyn Avenue, pleaded guilty to a single charge of assault when he made his first appearance before a judge at Hull Crown Court on Monday, October 29.

Mr Williams, who was represented in court by barrister Steven Garth, spoke only to confirm his name and plead guilty to the assault, which happened on May 6.

Mr Garth said Mr Williams had provided a written basis of plea which had been accepted by the Crown Prosecution Service. He said Mr Williams would benefit from a Humberside Probation Service report into his background before he was finally sentenced.

Details of the assault were not opened by the Crown barrister Charlotte Baines.

Judge Roger Thorn, QC, adjourned sentencing on Mr Williams until November 16.

Mr Williams was allowed to walk free from court on conditional bail. (01-11-41 SU)
