Burglary case set for crown trial

Published on 1st November 2007 in News

A Goole man has denied a charge of burglary and elected to stand a trial after appearing before a judge.

Terry Maguire (21), of Morley Street, denied burgling a neighbour's house in Morley Street in August of this year.

Mr Maguire appeared in custody at Hull Crown Court on Monday, October 29 and denied two charges. The first was that he stole a mobile telephone on July 14, 2007.

He also pleaded not guilty to burgling a house in Morley Street stealing a handbag and a bottle of vodka.

Mr Maguire was represented in court by barrister Richard Woolfall. He spoke only to confirm his name and pleaded not guilty.

Details of the case were not opened by the Crown barrister Sabrina Hartonshorn, which is normal at this stage. Judge Roger Thorn, QC, adjourned the case for a trial on December 17.

Mr Maguire was remanded in custody to await his trial.
