Postal scam

A Goole Town councillor is warning residents to be on the lookout for a postal scam that is hitting parts of the UK.
Beryl Beck-Taylor, Goole East Ward town councillor and Goole South councillor for East Riding of Yorkshire Council, is appealing to local residents to ignore any postcards they may receive through the door from a company called Parcel Delivery Service (PDS), suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that the resident should contact them on 0906 6611911, a premium rate number.
Royal Mail is said to have confirmed that this is a scam originating from Belize. If the number is called and a recorded message is heard, then you have already been billed £15 for the phone call.
Cllr Beck-Taylor told the Goole Times: "Goole residents should be made aware of this, and should not ring the number if they receive one of these post cards."
If you receive a card with these details, please contact Royal Mail Fraud team on 02072396655, or contact ICSTIS, the premium rate service regulator at www.icstis.org.uk
