Fatal bridge fall

A man who fell from a motorway bridge and died is believed to be from Goole.

The emergency services were called at 8.11am on Friday after reports of a man's body on the M62 between junctions 33 and 34.

The man, who has been named as Philip Paley, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield but later died. He was in his forties and is thought to be local.

Motorists on the motorway queued as two lanes were closed and the road was cleared again by around 11am.
