Take advantage of Make a Will Week special offer

Published on 25th October 2007 in News

Make a Will Week begins on Monday October 29 and keen Prince of Wales Hospice supporters are already contacting the local solicitors offering free will-making.

Laura Bennett, fundraising manager for the Prince of Wales Hospice said: "We've already had a number of inquiries from people who've seen a leaflet, the hospice website or an article in the press.

"Thankfully, most of the solicitors who are giving up their time to make wills free of charge are willing to take appointment bookings early."

The hospice hopes the campaign will not only raise awareness of the importance of having an up-to-date will, but also make people aware how much the hospice relies on bequests or donations made in wills.

Laura added: "The hospice relies on people remembering the hospice in their will, whether they leave a specific item, a sum of money or, more usually, a percentage of what's left after gifts to family and friends.

"Everyone taking up the Make a Will Week offer will be asked to complete a pledge form indicating if they have remembered the hospice in their will. We are crossing our fingers for a good response."
