Davis is top trumps

Published on 11th October 2007 in News

Howden MP David Davis's charisma and parliamentary skills have placed him high in the rankings of a special edition of Top Trumps.

Mr Davis was one of 30 politicians chosen to feature in a new version of the popular card game, which was produced to coincide with this year's party conference season.

They were rated in five categories: year elected, majority, charisma, looks and parliamentary skills.

Mr Davis was given six points for charisma - just one point behind the top score of seven.

Under parliamentary skills, he scored an impressive 123, losing out only to David Cameron, William Hague and Gordon Brown.

His profile reads: "Definitely not an old-Etonian, Davis is a self-made son of a single man. This former boxer and SAS reservist is now shadowing his fourth Labour Home Secretary... Jacqui Smith beware."

The set has been put together by Sky News, with the help of a panel including the Daily Mail's sketch writer Quentin Letts; the political editor of The Guardian, Michael White; and the Sky News political editor, Adam Boulton.
