Grant to be used to fund six projects

Howden Live, the town's charity arts organisation, is making good use of its £18,500 grant.
The committee is using the money to fund six projects, which include staging fundraising events for community groups, encouraging local musicians, pairing up jazz musicians who do not usually play together and developing local comedy.
When arranging fundraising events, they lend their equipment, promotions and ticket sales system, and the proceeds will go to schools, scouts and other groups.
One example of such an event is tomorrow's concert, The Springsteen Experience, which is in aid of Howden Senior School's Rock Challenge.
The band is dedicated to "The Boss" and take elements from his shows to get as close to the real thing as possible.
Tickets are available from Goods and Chattels, Market Place, Howden on 01430 432257 and The Shire Hall office on 01430 432510.
The money will go to the rock challenge, which this year is a modern day recreation of Romeo and Juliet.
Pupils will relive the story through the power of music and dance, incorporating contrasting styles of dance such as hip hop, lindy hop, disco and classic.
