Operatic trio take to Howden stage
Broadway hits, West End numbers and favourites from opera and operetta are all on the programme of a local 'Night of the Proms'.
In just over two weeks' time the classical vocal trio Amoroso will perform these, plus favourite songs from across the British Isles, at the Shire Hall in Howden.
The concert sold out on several occasions last summer and autumn, and the Shire Hall Trust is happy to welcome back the trio who were so popular in Howden on their last visit.
Amoroso, who are soprano Emma Dennis, Howden's own tenor Steven Goulden and baritone Chris Thornton-Holmes, will perform songs, arias, duets and trios in an evening which organisers promise will be 'full of fun', with something for all the family."
The three singers enjoy solo careers in opera, oratorio, recital and concert, travelling extensively throughout the UK and abroad working with some of the world's finest conductors.
The three singers enjoyed working together so much that they joined forces as Amoroso in February, 2006 and embarked on a national tour of regional theatres and concert halls, with their hit shows Music of the Night, A Night at the Proms and The Sound of Christmas selling out to much acclaim.
They have continued to tour throughout 2007 and due to popular demand have returned to many venues.
Amoroso will be at Shire Hall on Saturday, October 20, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £8 (£6 for concessions) and are on sale the Shire Hall box office. Call 01430 432510 or 07743 448123. Amoroso also have their own website - www.amorosotrio.com
