Soldiers to be remembered
A limited number of tickets is available to people who would like to attend the opening of a national war memorial.
A ceremony to dedicate the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire will take place on October 12.
The names of all the men and women of the United Kingdom Armed Forces killed on duty or as a result of terrorism since the second world war have been placed on the memorial, including those of the late Private Luke Simpson of Howden, and the late Alan Brackenbury, of Goole.
Tickets to the ceremony are being allocated proportionately across the decades and applications need to be in by September 14.
They can be downloaded from www.forcesmemorial.org.uk, by clicking on 'advised to apply', which is highlighted in red under the Ceremony to Dedicate the Armed Forces Memorial section.
