'Three-Quarters Sky - Landscapes of the Region' is the title of a touring exhibition now showing at Goole Museum, which started yesterday and will run until September 1.

The exhibition is the result of an art competition run jointly by BBC Radio Humberside and Beverley Art Gallery, where amateur and professional artists were invited to create a piece of work that reflected the people and landscape of East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.

The competition attracted a very large number of entries from all over the region and in a wide range of media and techniques.

Janet Tierney, Goole Museum curator, said: "The exhibition is a fascinating interpretation of the sometimes startling topography of the region, from flatlands to sea-cliffs, from the wheat fields of the Wolds to the industrial landscape of Goole Docks."

Goole Museum is open on Mondays from 2pm until 5pm, on Tuesdays to Fridays from 10am until 5pm and on Saturdays from 9am until 1pm.
