Badminton players of all ages, novice and pro, are invited to attend a Badmintonbash event at the South Cave Sports Centre.

Badmintonbash, which starts at 9am on September 1, is a 24-hour badminton session in aid of Cancerbackup, a national charity that distributes advice and assistance to cancer sufferers of all ages. There will also be a demonstration between 2pm and 4pm from young county players.

Melanie Smith, the founder of Badmintonbash said: "People of all ages can come and enjoy badminton to raise funds for Cancerbackup."

Staff at the South Cave Sports Centre have given free access to the centre for the event, as well as their own time and equipment. They have also donated prizes for a raffle. For further information about Badmintonbash visit the website www.badmintonbash.co.uk.
