Mr Robin Drury, of Howden, is the new governor for the North Lincolnshire and Goole hospitals Foundation Trust. The vacancy arose following the death of Mr Alan Kendrick earlier this year.

Mr Drury is no stranger to the NHS, having worked as a paramedic with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service for 32 years. In his election statement Mr Drury said: "I know the Goole and District hospital provides a very good service, however I strongly believe that the current level of service should not only be maintainned but improved upon, so that the inter-hospital travelling of both paitents and visitors can be kept to a minimum."
