Two people were taken to hospital after a car and a van crashed on the A614 near Howden last Thursday.

The driver of the car, a 55-year-old woman from Newport suffered concussion and was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

Her front seat passenger, an 11-year-old girl, suffered whiplash and bruising from her seatbelt and was taken to the same hospital.

Both went home before the end of the day.

A 53-year-old Thorne man, the driver of the van and his front-seat passenger, a 65-year-old woman also from Thorne, both refused medical attention at the scene but it is thought they were suffering from shock.

The accident happened at around 3.50pm between the Howden Spur roundabout and Leighton's garage.

The vehicles involved were a grey Nissan Qashqai and a white Mercedes Sprinter panel van. (16-08-08 SU and 16-08-09 SU)
