Police drugs raid swoop
Police raided two Goole homes on Friday morning and arrested three women and a man in connection with drug offences.
Police were stationed outside properties in Parliament Street and Gordon Street for most of the morning, and the raids resulted in the arrest of a 23-year-old man, a 23-year-old woman and a 44-year-old woman, all from Goole.
They have since been released on police bail pending further inquiries until the middle of September.
A 19-year-old woman, again from Goole, has also been charged with possessing cannabis with intent to supply and is due before Goole magistrates later this month.
The arrests have been made as part of a series of drugs warrants being executed in the area. This week's raids take the total to six since July 6.
Along with those in Parliament Street and Gordon Street, properties in Morley Street, Milton Street, Manuel Street and Phoenix Street have been raided, resulting in a total of 17 arrests.
Detective Sergeant Gavin Orsborne said the recent crackdown was prompted by the misery drug dealers were creating for the local community.
"It has become apparent that networks of people are profiting from drug dealing in the Goole area, causing misery and disruption for the local community, and this will not be tolerated," he said.
Humberside Police has joined forces with South Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire police forces as part of a cross-border crackdown on crime.
The summer campaign, which runs until September 30, will involve special operations and targeted activity that ensures criminals have nowhere to hide.
