£1,000 boost for Minster
Sales of a popular 2007 calendar meant a £1,000 donation could be handed over to the Minister Appeal yesterday (Wednesday).
Howden Civic Society put together a calendar featuring pictures of Howden which was sold in the town.
Residents and businesses helped by sponsoring pages and selling copies of the calendar, which civic society secretary Lorraine Vant said was "very popular".
On Wednesday, the ceremonial handover took place and the £1,000 was presented to the Rev James Little of Howden Minster.
The civic society would like to thank everyone who sponsored a page and helped sell the calendars.
