Doctors' survey
The results of a national GP patient survey were released recently and show that a majority of East Riding patients are happy with the service provided.
Findings from the recent 'Your Doctor, Your Experience, Your Say' survey were released on Tuesday, July 24. It was the first time that a survey about NHS services has been conducted on such a large nationwide scale.
John Brennan, locality associate sirector with East Riding of Yorkshire PCT, said: "Local results were good, with many reflecting the national average. According to survey results from the East Riding of Yorkshire area, 88 per cent of patients were satisfied with their ability to see a GP within 48 hours and 84 per cent were also happy with ease of telephone access.
"Two-thirds of patients were happy with the arrangements to book appointments more than two days in advance. The results will contribute to the ongoing work of the PCT and GPs at a locality level to improve access and choice and areas identified for improvement will be addressed through this route."
Just over half of the East Riding of Yorkshire practices participated and all who received responses from patients achieved results well above the minimum level of 60 per cent.
