Heart-op tot is photo shoot inspiration
A fundraising venture inspired by a toddler from Carlton has been opened up to businesses in a bid to boost proceeds.
Charity photo sittings have been taking place since July 28 above the Equinox Hairdressing Salon on Boothferry Road.
A pound from each sitting has been donated to the Children's Heart Surgery Fund, which has been championed by the parents of little Sienna Singleton.
Sienna, who celebrated her first birthday in March this year, was diagnosed with severe heart defects when she was just six weeks old.
She has already undergone gruelling surgery and may only live to be 30 but is otherwise a happy, smiling little girl.
Parents Pete and Kerry have raised around £4,000 for the Children's Heart Surgery Fund, which they hope will one day find a cure for Sienna and other children like her.
Sienna's story caught the eye of Goole photographer Daryl Thompson, of Dt Photography, who contacted the Singletons to offer his help.
Mr Thompson said he was touched by Sienna's story as he has a child around the same age.
"I really felt for them [the Singletons]," said Daryl.
"I thought: 'What am I good at?' and I came up with this."
The photo sittings, which are priced at £4.99 and include a free 5x7 selection print and a 5x7 colour print, run until this Saturday.
In an attempt to boost funds, Daryl has now extended the offer to traders who can use the offer to acquire professional photos of their products for a portfolio.
And it's all for a good cause.
Speaking to the Goole Times, Kerry said: "Every moment moment we have with Sienna is precious and we have dedicated ourselves to raising money for the Children's Heart Surgery Fund.
"Maybe we will find a cure for Sienna's condition before it is too late for her and others with her heart problems."
The photo shoots take place above Equinox, at 75 Boothferry Road. Alternatively, Dt Photography can be contacted directly on 01405 763393 or via www.creativi.tv
Last month's casino night at Drax Social Club raised £537 for the fund.
The club donated provided a disco and food and Roundtable Casino, the casino.
