People in Goole and Howden are being reminded that they can have an important say in the way their hospital is run. Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a new governor to join its ranks.

This follows the sudden death of one of its governors from the Goole and Howden constituency, Mr Alan Kenrick, earlier this year.

People who have registered as public members of the Trust living in the Goole and Howdenshire area are being urged to ensure they vote in this election and send their ballot papers back by tomorrow, Friday, August 3. The result of the election will be announced on Monday, August 6.

The notice of the election, and the details of the members standing for election, have been sent to all public members of the Foundation Trust in the Goole and Howdenshire constituency.

However, if you are a member, and have not received the information, please contact Ian McDonald, Assistant Director, Membership Services on 01724 387946 or e-mail him at ian.mcdonald@nlg.nhs.uk.

Foundation Trust chairman Ade Brooks said: "This is a real chance for people who have registered to become members of the trust to have a say over the future direction of their local hospital services through electing a governor.

"I would urge all members to ensure they get their votes back to us in time.

"Anyone who is not a public member of the Foundation Trust at present, but would like to become a member should contact 01724 387946, email foundationtrustoffice@nlg.nhs.uk or visit the website, www.nlg.nhs.uk and register online."
