Burglars made off with a 42-inch wide-screen television worth £1,500 last week after they broke into a house in Buttfield Road.

The incident happened between 8am on Monday, July 23 and 6.30pm the following day, when thieves smashed a ground-floor window at the back of the house to gain entry. They ransacked the house before making off with the television.

Scenes-of-crimes officers have visited the property and officers would now like to speak to anyone who was seen acting suspiciously in the area, or who was seen in the area with a television. Anyone who may have been offered the television for sale is also urged to contact police.

Anyone with information should contact police on 0845 6060222 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
