One person is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being involved in a crash near Holme upon Spalding Moor early yesterday morning (Wednesday).

As we went to press, Humberside Police were still trying to piece together the details of what are thought to be two separate accidents, involving a blue Vauxhall Astra, a white Vauxhall Corsa and a lorry.

It is understood that two people were trapped in the Astra and the driver, from West Yorkshire, was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary with serious head injuries while the front seat passenger, 38 and also from West Yorkshire, suffered cuts to both legs.

The driver of the white Corsa, who was 23 and from Goole, suffered minor injuries.

The accidents occurred around 6.50am on the A614 and the road was closed for several hours.
