Residents and businesses must wait until September 4 to find out if the recent Goole in Bloom campaign has been successful.

On July 13, judges were taken on a tour which took in sites including Parkside Primary, Pasture Road and the Waterways Museum.

Brian Robertson, clerk to Goole Town Council, said that comments from the judges as they went round were very positive and the tour was actually filmed for a DVD which will be used to train young judges.

However, no one will know the outcome until the awards ceremony on September 4, in Hull.

Only one representative is allowed to attend and this will be the Mayor of Goole, Cllr Jean Kitchen.
