Private Luke Simpson from Howden, who died in Iraq in February this year, will have his name in a book of remembrance at York Minster, which will be on permanent display. The 21-year-old's name will be the first to go in the book.

A medals parade for soldiers from East Yorkshire who served in Iraq was due to take place this week at Catterick Garrison but has been postponed.

Lieutenant-Colonel Andrew Jackson, Pte Simpson's commanding officer, has confirmed that, when the parade takes place, it will include an act of remembrance for Pte Simpson.
