A group of six students from Year Eight at Snaith School recently beat off competition from schools around the East Riding to be voted winners of the Young Enterprise award for 'Enterprise in Action'.

Year Eight team 'VooDoo' attended the final at Hull University Business School to pit their unique product, Llama Chess, against some older Year Nine and Year Ten students from other schools in Withernsea, Hull, Grimsby and Scunthorpe. The team addressed ten judges from local industry and commerce, as well as staff from the University Business School, and were subsequently presented with the winning trophy for the first ever Enterprise in Action final.

Their product was designed to be a new board game for all the family, and was described as "fun, fab, for all ages and llamalicious".

Seen here with the Llama Chess product are team members Rebecca Ryan, Bethany Proctor, Anna Hinchcliffe, Kyle Elcock, Charlotte Ambler and Megan Taylor, who is holding Ed the Llama. (19-07-08 GT)
