A new president for the Howden and District Woman's Luncheon Club was elected when members met at Howden Masonic Hall last Wednesday, July 18 for the annual general meeting.

The meeting was opened by the president, Miss Barbara Cowling. who, in her retiring address, told the group that she had enjoyed her year as president and thanked the committee for all their hard work.

Miss Cowling then introduced Mrs Anne Bell as the Luncheon Club's new president. Mrs Bell was presented with the chain of office and in return, gave Miss Cowling a token to spend on her garden as a gift from the club.

The next Luncheon Club meeting will be held on October 17.
