A fundraising evening has been organised to help out the victims of last month's flooding in Swinefleet.

Residents of Quayfield Square were hit particularly hard by the downpours and the RAOB, in conjunction with the church, is hoping to raise some money for them.

Rock trio Stagefright and singer J D Shores will perform at Swinefleet Social Club on Friday, July 29, from 8pm.

There will be a raffle and the opportunity to make voluntary contributions.

The Rev John Whalley said: "Even if you have insurance, it doesn't cover everything.

"People have had their furniture ruined and the plaster off the walls."

Even if residents cannot attend the evening, they are encouraged to make a donation.

Mr Whalley is the point of contact for the event and can be reached on 01405 704362.
