Police are appealing for information following two recent burglaries in the Goole and Airmyn area.

More than £1,000 of jewellery and electronic equipment was stolen from a property in Airmyn when burglars broke into a house on High Street by smashing a pane of glass in the rear door. They made off with various valuable items including a man's gold signet ring, a man's white gold signet ring, a laptop computer and a DVD player.

The incident is thought to have happened between midnight on Friday, July 13 and 5am on Monday, July 16.

Police officers would like to speak to anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at that time, or who may have been offered any of these stolen items for sale.

Meanwhile, between 11pm on Saturday, July 14 and 9.45am on Sunday, July 15, sneaky burglars stole a white puffa jacket, a white handbag and a white Sony Ericsson mobile phone from a house in Third Avenue in Goole after they gained entry through an insecure door.

Anyone with information about either burglary is urged to contact Humberside Police on 0845 6060222, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
