A police helicopter circled the Pasture Road area of Goole on Monday lunchtime as officers attempted to trace a man who had broken into a garage in nearby Colonel's Walk.

Just after midday on Monday police received reports of a man trying to break into the garage and deployed officers and the helicopter to find the offender.

House to house inquiries were conducted, but it appears that no items were stolen from the garage.

The man involved is thought to be in his late twenties, 5ft 9in tall, stockily built and with short, black hair. He was wearing jeans and a grey top.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw the man in the area, or who may be able to identify him from the description. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0845 6060222, or call Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
