Air show trip for Air Corps
Twenty three cadets and members of staff from 2357 (Goole) Air Training Corps Squadron accompanied by 5 cadets and staff from 300 (Isle of Axholme) Air Training Corps Squadron successfully carried out their duties at the Royal Air Force Waddington International Air Show, despite the terrible weather conditions that eventually closed the show on the second day.
The Goole Squadron has earned an excellent reputation at RAF Waddington over a number of years, where they run the disabled persons enclosure throughout the show.
Since the Squadron's return from the Air Show it has received a letter of thanks from Squadron Leader Gary Lawrence at RAF Waddington thanking the Squadron members for what he describes as "outstanding efforts." He pointed out: "I hope that we will be able to maintain the excellent relationship established between Royal Air Force Waddington and the Goole and Isle of Axholme Squadrons of the Air Training Corps."
Flight Lieutenant Adrian Owen Officer Commanding 2357 (Goole) Squadron said: "This is a great opportunity for the young cadets to spend a weekend on an operational Air Force Station.
"I am particularly proud of their response to the bad weather and the disruption it brought and the way they all coped with that new and real challenge this year."
