Carolyn Burgess, chief executive of Howden-based interpreting and translation specialists Language is Everything, presented a cheque for £600 to the newly-formed Goole Drop-in Centre on Monday.

Language is Everything, which was formally known as EITI, has been a long-standing supporter of local organisations and has made one of the first payments out of its Community Fund to the new Drop-in in Aire Street.

"The Goole Drop-in Centre provides a lifeline for young people," said Carolyn Burgess.

"Richard and Peter came to our offices and gave us a powerful presentation about their long-term strategic objectives. We're delighted to give them our backing and support.

"Previously, we've tended to look at projects in isolation and given a bit here and a bit there. The aim of this new fund is to go about things in a more coherent, and more effective, way."

The Drop-In Centre aims to provide social development opportunities through individual and group activities fro young people aged between 10 and 19 years old. (19-07-85 GT)
