Lead thieves return to town

Police are warning people about the dangers of stealing lead after two more thefts in Goole.

Lead sheeting was taken some time between 9am on Monday, June 19 and 11.30am on Wednesday, June 27 from a property on Victoria Street in the town.

Thieves climbed onto the roof and stole the lead, which was worth around £500.

Between 11pm on Tuesday, June 26 and 8am the following day more lead was stolen, this time from the back of a house on Axholme Street.

The cost of the damage to the roof is estimated to be £300.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw people climbing onto the roofs. They warn that climbing onto a roof without proper safety equipment is dangerous.

The crime reference number for the Victoria Street theft is 1494219 and 1493949 for the Axholme Street incident.
