Fundraisers? summer of fun

The sum of ?226 was donated to the Holland House Action Group following an event at The Sotheron Arms pub in Hook.
The Action Group would like to thank Mrs Judy Whimsey for inviting them to the Shadows tribute band evening at The Sotheron Arms on Sunday, July 23.
Judy organised a raffle and after expenses were paid to the band a total of ?226 was donated to the HHAG. The Sotheron Arms, affectionately called ?Heppies?, have supported the HHAG from the beginning and the HHAG are very grateful for their continued support.
Holland House Action Group continue to fund raise during the summer, with more events planned through August.
Up-and-coming events include a performance by Mike Smith from Howden. He will be appearing at Hook Memorial Hall on Saturday, August 5, at 7.30pm.
He is a local poet and has entertained all ages to sell out audiences in Howden for some time. Tickets are ?5 and ?3 for concessions. Only a limited number of tickets are available. Telephone 01405 761871 for tickets.
Then on Saturday, August 12, the HHAG are hosting the Hook Music Festival from 3pm until 10pm.
Local singer songwriter Gillan Cash will be performing along with female vocalist Jamie-Lea Hainsworth, and headlining the event is one of the best unsigned bands out of Liverpool, The Black Jackals, who play to sell out audiences at The Cavern Club in Liverpool and at The Cafe De Paris in London regularly.
Local bands, singers and talented youngsters, as well as senior citizens, are encouraged to join the HHAG for an afternoon of song and music. The closing date for entries is tomorrow, Friday, July 28.

Finally, the bags2school collection finished earlier this week and the Action Group collected 174 bags, approx 600kilos, so well done everyone for bringing your unwanted clothes for recycling.
