Goole in Bloom is readying itself for the summer, 2007 campaign of Yorkshire In Bloom and a new logo has been designed for the group. The logo represents the unique view that is Goole's skyline, the white rose of Yorkshire and the water theme for which the town is well known.

Phil Jones, vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce and Treasurer of Goole In Bloom, said: "In Bloom is an opportunity for the whole town to take pride in its assets.

"The business sector actively supports the aims of the group and is very pleased to be participating in the launch of the Goole in Bloom logo."

On Friday, July 13, Goole will be visited by two judges from Yorkshire in Bloom. In Bloom members will be showcasing a tour that complements all the features of the town.

Cllr Jean Kitchen, chair of Goole in Bloom, said she was looking forward to everyone taking pride in the tour and welcoming the judges to Goole. She said: "A leaflet highlighting the tour route is being produced and will be available from July in various community venues for anyone who would like to take the tour and see for themselves what a beautiful asset our town is to the East Riding of Yorkshire."
