Fun weekend ahead at museum

Published on 21st June 2007 in News

It's Blues and Twos Weekend at The Trolleybus Museum near Sandtoft this weekend, June 23 and 24, with a visiting selection of classic and modern emergency vehicles.

Displays and demonstrations of emergency response vehicles will take place throughout each day and visitors will be able to learn more about First Response Crews and see the fire crew in action.

The museum will also be operating a selection of historic trolleybuses around its operating circuit. All the museum's usual attractions will be open both days including a trolleybus driving simulator, children's play area, digital theatre and vintage bicycle collection.

Period shop window displays and a suitably decorated 1950s/60s prefab bungalow add to the experience of reliving the heyday of trolleybuses. The museum is also home to the largest collection of historic trolleybuses in the world and you can take a vintage motorbus tour of the historic Isle of Axholme.

The museum is open from 11am to 5pm; admission is £5 for adults and £3 for concessions. Alternatively, a family ticket can be purchased for £15. Admission includes unlimited trolleybus rides and car parking. (21-06-08 SU)
