Parish festival

Goole Parish Church will be holding a festival of flowers and crafts in the church next weekend. The theme chosen for the event is 'Time and Tide' and the flowers and crafts will be connected to all things nautical.

There will be flowers displays, Goole Art Society will be showing paintings of the docks, and river and local scenes and model boats will be shown courtesy of Goole Model Boat Club. The crypt will also be open to view and there will be organ recitals throughout the day.

The festival will be open from 10am to 4pm on Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23 and from 12 noon to 4pm on Sunday, June 24.

The official opening by the Bishop of Doncaster, the Rt. Rev. Cyril Ashton, will be on the Friday at 11am. Goole MP Ian Cawsey and Goole Town Mayor Jean Kitchen will also be attending. Admission is £2.50 for adults and accompanying young children get in free. There will be light refreshments available throughout the day, with lunch served in the schoolrooms.
