A Rawcliffe Bridge resident has had an unusual and not particularly attractive visitor to her house.

Ruth Lucas had a bit of a shock when the strange-looking creature flew into her bathroom.

"It's a mixture of a cockroach, a bee and a moth," she said.

"It's so horrible, it's scary."

Ruth was told by a friend the creature, which she has now released, could be a rare hawk moth.

A Goole Times reporter believes it is a cockchafer, also known as a May bug, however.
