Pollen update
Published on 7th June 2007 in News
The East Riding of Yorkshire Council (ERYC) has introduced an innovative new feature on its website to help hayfever sufferers cope with the summer ahead.
The grass pollen count is to be updated daily on weekdays to enable sufferers to plan their day and take medication accordingly. It is available online at www.airpollution.eastriding. gov.uk until Tuesday, July 31.
The East Riding is one of 30 areas across the UK that monitor grass pollen as part of the UK Pollen Network.
"Lots of East Riding residents suffer from hayfever and we are pleased to be able to contribute to this national work," said Paul Abbott, environmental control manager for the council.
