To pay £80 for false assault claim

A 22-year-old woman from Market Weighton has been fined £80 after making a false report of sexual assault.
Detectives investigated a report of an incident on the B1248 in Tibthorpe on Monday, April 30.
However, the allegations were found to be untrue and the woman has been issued with a fixed penalty notice for wasting police time.
Detective Inspector Paul Bates said: "We take every report of sexual assault very seriously.
"People who make false allegations use up valuable police resources when officers could be investigating other serious crimes.
"I hope this penalty will make people think before they make false reports and that it will not detract from the seriousness of sexual offences.
"Anyone making false reports for any crime could face prosecution."
