Movie making chance

Does Goole hold the key to the next great acting talent like Brad Pitt or Cameron Diaz? Or perhaps we have the next Steven Spielberg or Alfred Hitchcock?
Duchy Parade Films and Goole Town Council are on the hunt for locally-based young people to star in a film to be shot in the town. They are also looking for young people who would be interested in being crew members, sound technicians, runners, camera operators and directors.
The film itself will premiere in Goole, followed by several other screenings throughout Yorkshire. All young people who take part will receive a copy of the DVD for their showreel.
The shoot for the film will take place during weekends in early July and early into the Summer holiday break.
Nicola Dixon, youth and community arts co-ordinator for Goole Town Council, said: "This project is a real opportunity for the young people of Goole to show what a wealth of talent we have in the town." She added: "We are very lucky to be working with such high-profile industry professionals.
"I'd urge anyone with an interest in acting, drama or the media to get involved. These sort of projects can help applications onto much-sought-after college and university places."
The industry professionals range from animation and photography experts with credits such as Thunderbirds the Movie to theatre directors and award-winning film producers, all from Duchy Parade Films.
Unlike the X Factor, there will be no need for large queues for audition on June 10: you can book your time slot to audition for the producers.
If you are interested in becoming a crew member book your time slot to discuss this with the team. Film director Peter Kershaw said: "I wish I'd had these sorts of opportunities in my youth. We expect to be overwhelmed with young people wanting to take part."
You can book your time slot by visiting the blog, www.goolesilentmovie.blogspot.com or calling Nicola Dixon on 01405 763652.
