During the bank holiday weekend more than a quarter of a million UK Scouts went camping at various locations around the country.

Twenty-one Cubs, Scouts and Explorers from the 1st Howden Scout Group joined nearly 1,600 other members of the Scout Movement at the Humberside County Centenary Camp at the Driffield County Showground.

Despite the indifferent weather the young people enjoyed a wide variety of activities during the day and evening. On Sunday morning they participated in a Sunrise Ceremony to remind them that 2007 was the 100th Anniversary of the Scout Movement, the largest and most successful youth movement in the world.
