Fast changing face of Goole

Published on 31st May 2007 in News

Representatives from more than 40 different companies attended an event at Goole Leisure Centre on May 23 aimed at providing advice and guidance on the recruitment and training of staff.

A range of support agencies was on hand to help at the event, which was organised by the Chamber of Commerce in partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council. With the Centreport development off Junction 36 taking shape, new employment opportunities and challenges are emerging.

Cllr Stephen Parnaby, leader of the council, gave a presentation and stressed that the Centreport development and programme for regeneration was set to change the face of Goole at an ever increasing pace.

Following an open forum for discussion, questions and answers, Carolyn Burgess, chairman of Goole Chamber of Commerce, invited businesses to become involved in projects to help shape the future of Goole and the surrounding area.

Any businesses interested in doing so should contact Caroline Hutchinson at the chamber on 01482 324976.
