An innovative manufacturer of glazed outdoor shelters has been carrying out a series of business briefings aimed at educating organisations about issues surrounding the imminent smoking ban.

East Yorkshire-based Outside-In Solutions have worked cohesively with East Riding Council to organise the events in response to many organisations raising concerns about the negative effects the new legislation could potentially have on their business.

The series of events has been running throughout the region over the past few weeks culminating in a final event at Goole Leisure Centre.

Many East Yorkshire businesses expressed concerns that the new law prohibiting people from smoking in enclosed public places could mean a potential loss of customers when it comes into force on July 1, as well as disgruntled staff.

Practical solution to problem

Outside-In Solutions have been offering organisations a solution to their problem, helping them find an effective, affordable and practical solution to what many see as a huge problem.

The company's shelters can be designed with 50 per cent open walls to create a comfortable place for smokers, whilst conforming to the legislation, or closed fully to create a versatile function room.

Nick Warnett, managing director of Outside-In Solutions, of Keyingham said: "We hope that through the course of these events we've been able to help local businesses see that the smoking ban doesn't have to have a negative impact on their business providing that they plan ahead."
