Big sleep-over for Scouts

Scouts in Goole have a busy Bank Holiday weekend ahead of them as they head off to the Driffield Showground for the County Centenary Celebration Camp.
This weekend, from Friday, May 25 to Monday, May 28, Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Explorer Scouts, network members, leaders and supporters from all over Humberside will hold an adventure-packed Centenary Camp, as part of a nationwide series of events to celebrate 100 years of scouting.
More than 200,000 scouts from across the UK will sleep simultaneously in camp over the weekend, resulting in the largest simultaneous camping activity ever undertaken by the Scout Association,
Tim Smith, District Explorer Scout Commissioner, based in Goole, said: "This will be a unique event because there will be around 200 Beaver Scouts there, and they have never been to a sleep over like this before, so to get everyone together means that this will be a big experience."
