Published on 10th May 2007 in News

Goole and District Women's Luncheon Club celebrated their 75th anniversary recently when they met for lunch at the Vikings Hotel in Goole.

The president, Mrs Ann Barber welcomed guests from Ripon, Doncaster, York, Howden, Goole Inner Wheel, the Goole mayor Mr Kevin Duffy and guests of the club members.

The speaker was Sir Thomas Ingilby from Ripley Castle, North Yorkshire, who gave a delightful, humorous and informative talk entitled 'castle life in the 21st century'.

Mrs Margaret Jackson had made and beautifully decorated an anniversary cake which was cut by Mrs Zoe Norris, a member of the club for 57 years. It was a most enjoyable afternoon appreciated by all.
