To promote National Breastfeeding Awareness Week which is from the May 13 to May 19, Goole's BAPS Peer Supporters Group will be hosting a balloon giveaway in the town centre on Wednesday, May 16 at lunch time.

They will also be hosting a picnic at kingsway Childrens Centre on Friday, May 18 from 12.30pm - 2.30pm with a farmyard theme. Bring your own picnic and get involved in free activities for all ages including a baby toddler musical and farmyard arts and crafts.

The Breastfeeding Support Group is also holding an event on Tuesday, May 15 at Snaith High School sports hall, everyone who is linked with the support group and anyone who is breast feeding is welcome.

The event is taking place 10am until 12 noon. These events, supported by the East Riding of Yorkshire Primary Care Trust, offer mothers the chance to socialise with other breastfeeding mums in their area and to meet peer supporters.

Isabel Carrick, Public Health Lead said: "The events also provide a forum for mothers to seek professional advice on any problems or concerns, or just to have fun with their baby or toddler!

"Anyone who is pregnant can also come along and ask questions to help them decide how they want to feed their baby."
