House filled with smoke from TV blaze

Published on 10th May 2007 in News

Goole firefighters used a portable water supply to put out burning rubbish on Percy Street, Old Goole, at 12.20am on Sunday.

On Monday a Goole crew were called upon to use a hose reel to tackle a skip fire on Bartholomew Avenue at around 9pm.

On Tuesday a house in West Cowick had to be cleared of smoke after a television caught fire at lunchtime.

Crews from Goole and Snaith went to Little London Lane around 12.30pm and used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to tackle the fire.

They also used a thermal image camera to check the area was safe and a fan to clear out the smoke, which had filled the whole house.
